Profile Summary

Puto Aranyaka first registered as an organization in Ontario in 2005. A year later, they were fortunate enough to become a recognized charity organization and their office is located in Aurora.

Meaning of Name
Generally Buddha and Bodhisattva Kuan Yin are worshipped the most because Bodhisattva Kuan Yin (Avalokitesvara) hears all prayers and she is always there.

Mountain Puto is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, where Bodhisattva Kuan Yin preached to the public.

Aranyaka is a small shrine in a very remote area.

Our objective is to maintain our focus on the building of an elderly home, instead of a big temple, therefore we are called Puto Aranyaka.

Puto Aranyanka will be pursuing it’s objective of spreading “Humanistic Buddhism” to propagate Buddhism with Chinese culture.

Printing Sutras
In the past two years, we have received generous support and thus have successfully printed three sutras.

To make Buddhism more understandable, one sutra is translated to English, and a painting collection of Bodhisattva Kuan Yin with Chinese and English description, are published.

Promoting Vegetarian Culture
To increase your awareness on the benefits of vegetarian food, to show the goodness it brings to health, and to bring Chinese vegetarian cuisine to another level, the first vegetarian dinner party is organized at Casa Victoria Restaurant in Toronto, Canada on March 01, 2008, which is a big step towards our goal.

Introducing Buddhism
To give the public the understanding of Bodhisattva Kuan Yin, an exhibition of a complete series of masterpieces of all thirty-three painted images of Bodhisattva Kuan Yin is organised at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, on March 26-30, 2008. Puto Aranyaka has successfully invited the masterpiece painter to illustrate her painting skills during the exhibition.

Puto Aranyaka is dedicated to express the wisdom of Buddha to the public and to help people achieve a fulfilled life, we will hold different types of talk, sutra readings, social gatherings, visiting the elderly, hobby classes, help organizing weddings, funerals and many other cultural events.

In the future Puto Aranyaka will continue to work within the community and build an elderly home and bring harmony to the society.

Your continuous and generous support is highly appreciated.

Thank you.
